Aims and Objectives of the TTT Food Group - for discussion and agreement on Nov 3rd 2008
Overall aim
To assist and support the residents of the Totnes area in developing the resources to feed themselves from local food sources. Reducing their reliance on food imported using dwindling oil supplies and developing a thriving local food infrastructure. Our current objectives: Develop local food growing skills and opportunities Bring unused land into food productionEncourage the relocalisation of the local food economy TTT’s aims for 2008/9 are as follows:(1) engaging the wider, more mainstream community with TTT through a number of key projects and (2) providing visible, tangible evidence about the beneficial outcomes of TTT's work. (2) With these 2 aims in mind, and using the criteria listed above, TTT has agreed a number of strategic projects and core activities of which the following are relevant to us in the food group:Energy Descent Pathways (EDP) Project – we are invited to participate in this process.
Localising Commercial Food – we have been invited to participate in a pilot mapping project , this will give us some tools and expertise which, along with our Food Guide will help us in this work.
Community Supported Agriculture Project – some progress has been made
