Report back on events
Climate Change ritual led by Sylvia, 6 JuneThere were 17 adults a child and a dog. The ritual went well – both in that it raised some real energy which was sent out to the G8 leaders, and an article by Sylvia was published in the Totnes Times – so it impacted local people as well. The group who met for the ritual will continue – if anyone is interested in joining with eco – pagan ritual work contact Sylvia
Consciousness Café 5 July organised by Max
A talk by Jasper Solomon covered the history of western philosophical thought and went on to explore the experience of reality and the concept of enlightenment.. it sounded like a lively debate ensued. “It was interesting to have it in the barrelhouse with alcoholic drinks available”. Max is organising the next one for September.
Home Groups launch 19 June facilitated by Hilary
30 people came, including some of the group which formed from the second Skilling Up for Powerdown evening class, who spoke very positively about the group. The process of forming groups was haphazard, difficult for some, done as well as it could have been, chaotic (in the best sense of the word). Two new groups formed and some people joined the existing group. · One group has met twice, 3rd meeting is next Friday and is going well, covering issues of connection, spirituality, intimacy, safety.
· Second new group will meet on August 7th – difficult to get a date when all 6 can make it.
· There is an existing group in Ivybridge meeting 3rd Saturday of the month. Contact Simon for more information.
It was suggested that for these early stages it is possible to go to other group meetings and try things out – so don’t take it personally if someone goes elsewhere from your group! Each group can decide when and if they want to be closed. Moira suggested an alternative process of forming groups through a process of attunement and then forming groups without trying to “work it out” – such as selecting an object from a bowl and joining all those who selected the same object, trusting that the groups formed would work as well as any other way. Mahesi mentioned a S American tradition of groups meeting at an open fire, with some ritual and structure. Anna leads it – Mahesi will send Sophy Anna’s email address to follow this up. Suggested that we use the TT wiki site to list people interested in a home group. This may feel a bit public for some..For now, if you want to join a group Hilary is keeping a record of those looking for one, and can put you in touch with other people. Sylvia suggested that the forming process should at least include what times you are available to help with making group dates work. Closing the season..
To finish we did a walk in the grounds, using the journey outwards to think back over the past weeks and months to the start – of your involvement with Heart and Soul, or TTT, or whichever start felt meaningful. When you have reached the start (the furthest point of the walk), stop and notice what is around you, what nature reflects back to you. Walk back as if you are walking the journey forward in time again – from that start to the present, and notice how you feel, what is around you, bringing yourself up to date. We had a short sharing after.. will break during August and meet in September. Next meeting Tuesday 18 September, let me know if there’s any reason not to have it then. Venue to be confirmed. Happy rest of the summer!!Bookmark/Search this post with:
